    Greetings, Sentients!

Today’s Friday Feature is about the various structures, factories, and harvesters you have access to, how to obtain them, and how to place them. Whether you’re a freelance resource surveyor, a hopeful upstart looking to build your own trading empire, or a wanderer longing to find a place to call home, this feature has something for you.

In the interest of brevity, we will only be focusing on the currently released TCG and SWG:Legends exclusive player housing for the housing section of this Feature.

Before we dive into this tell-all, there are some restrictions to where you can place structures. Some planets, like Mustafar and Kashyyyk, have environments that are simply too untamed and dangerous to support structures of any kind. Others, like Dathomir, Yavin, and Endor, can only support factories and harvesters due to their hostile inhabitants. All other planets can hold houses, factories, and harvesters with some minor restrictions on player house style.

But I’m getting ahead of myself! In order to place any structure you must have enough lots to support that structure. Every player has ten lots they can use to place structures. Most structures require more than one lot and will take up a lot of space, so make sure that you have enough lots to accommodate your new addition. You can see how many lots you have remaining in your character tab (C by default) under personal.

There are four main types of factories that any player, given that they have enough free lots, can place. They are wearables, equipment, structure, and food. Each factory can accept a certain set of schematics for production, which can be created at crafting stations. These factories can be crafted by structures traders and are regularly sold on the bazaar.

Hand sampling can be tedious work and is far from the most efficient way to gather resources. Players have access to chemical, mineral, gas, moisture, and flora harvesters, in small and large sizes, to do the work over time without needing a player at the keys. Harvesters are crafted by structures traders and are sold on the bazaar, but can vary greatly in price, some being more expensive than others.

Finding the right spot for your harvesters is crucial. By creating a hand sampling tool, you can scan the area for a specific resource. If the tool detects a pocket of that resource nearby, it will automatically give you a waypoint. Your goal should be to find the area with the highest percentage of that resource and the most space for you to place down the harvesters. Placing them can be tricky, as they often require a flat surface and most cannot be placed too close to other structures.

In order to power harvesters and factories, you will need generators to produce power units! These units can be picked up like any other resource. Players have access to wind, fusion, geothermal, and solar generators. Each type of factory and harvester will take a different amount of power. The larger/better the harvester, the more power it will take. Like maintenance, power can be added by radialing the structure. Generators are also crafted by structures traders and are sold on the bazaar. Like other harvesters, you must find an area with a good power resource before you can get power units.

SWG:Legends is fortunate to have exclusive content that can only be found on our server. The design and development teams are proud to bring us some exclusive housing, as well as adding in TCG housing that was in the game before it shut down. These houses can be placed on any planet, excluding planets that have hard placement restrictions.

The Mustafarian bunker is a reward given to every account in their veteran rewards, which can be claimed after ten days of playtime. It can be placed on any house-accommodating planet.

Through the storyteller vendor, players have access to the sandcrawler home, which can be purchased for gold coins. It can also be placed on any planet that accommodates housing.

The hangar home can be acquired by either completing space duty missions or the Ace of Aces space achievement. It can be placed on any planet that accommodates housing.

The barn is a newer TCG addition that can be obtained by collecting schematic pieces and adding them together in a schematic reader, along with a magnetic burner and recovery software. The structure pieces, including the schematic reader, can be looted from high-level bosses in-game, such as the Greater Ancient Krayt Dragon world boss.

During Empire/Remembrance day, each faction has access to Legends exclusive houses - the Imperial Tower home and the Rebel Lookout home. These can be bought on the respective vendors during the event or purchased from players who have the schematic. These houses can be placed on any planet that accommodates housing.

The Witches of Dathomir themepark offers Nightsister and Singing Mountain Clan huts that can be purchased from the respective vendors using materials from their quests. These huts can be placed on any planet that accommodates housing.

Structures, harvesters, and factories all incur maintenance costs, often depending on their size and quality, to keep them operating. You can pay maintenance on any structure by simply radialing and mousing over “pay maintenance” (this is found on the structure management terminal in player houses) and typing in a number from 1 to 100,000. Once you’ve input the amount you want to pay, hit ok, and that amount of credits will be taken from your cash and put into your maintenance fund.

If your player home runs out of maintenance funds, it will start taking the fee directly from your bank until there is nothing left, after which the house will be packed up and sent to your datapad. Factories and harvesters will incur damage if their maintenance costs are not paid, so it is important to keep them paid up!

With this information, you should be ready to get out there take the galaxy by storm! Good luck, pioneers!

You have to Ace all nine squadrons, or I think you can buy it with Duty Tokens - no specific missions per se.
    Can-tank'r'us Ordo - Grumpy Old Commando-lorian.
Tarkuss Kudasai - Zabrak Bounty Hunter/Imperial Pilot.
Don't bother trying to return fire... I'm a Commando, I'm immune to it.

It costs 75000 tokens to buy the hangar at Ord Mantell. It is actually much easier to get Ace of Aces to get it than the tokens.
