    Greetings Legends,

As you may have noticed, we have added a new mechanism to the game: Anti-AFK areas. Upon analyzing the feedback you gave us via our SWG: Legends player questionnaire, It became very clear that many of you had very vocal issues and concerns around the topic of AFK gameplay and we’ve listened to your feedback.

There are now in-game locations where the usage of macros after a certain amount of time will be prevented. The result of this will prevent AFK gameplay and camping of those locations.

For a long time we’ve participated in discussions about the amount of AFK gameplay on our server. In 2016 AFK gameplay was rather limited and not such a big issue as it’s now become, this was primarily due to the simple fact that in 2016 we had to restart the server at least once a day. This previous situation even worsened to the point we had restarts every seven hours. So AFK gameplay had a “natural” end with every restart.

With the fix of the memory leak this changed dramatically. We are up for 90-100 hours and 24/7 AFK gameplay became a reality - and a significant problem in some areas.

Due to this, we have discussed many different possible solutions on how to handle this situation within the team as well as with the Senate. The outcome we have decided to implement is the following:

The listed areas below will stop macros from being executed after a certain amount of time. Note: These areas are subject to possible change as we monitor the effect on the overall gameplay experience.
    • Tatooine - Tusken Raiders outside Mos Eisley
    • Tatooine - Swoop Gangers in Mos Eisley
    • Tatooine - Smugglers outside Mos Eisley
    • Tatooine - Slum Thief in Mos Espa
    • Tatooine - Krayt Dragon Graveyard
    • Dathomir - Forced Labor Camp POI
    • Dathomir - Nightsister Stronghold POI
    • Dathomir - Nightsister vs Singing POI
    • Talus - ACLO Bunker
    • Yavin - Exar Kun Cultists
    • Kashyyyk Space - Blackscales
    • Mustafar - Storm Lord

The locations for new players (including Legacy quest locations) will stop macros much faster than the high level locations.

Our policies surrounding AFK gameplay still apply and remain unchanged. The use of macros is not allowed in quest areas, unless you are using an active invite macro.

Please note that we are not condemning AFK gameplay, as it always has been a part of SWG. We are only limiting it in these areas to make the overall ATK experience of our service more enjoyable as players experience their Star Wars Galaxies adventure.

As always, we appreciate the unwavering support and encourage you to leave feedback as you wish.

May the force be with you,

    SWG: Legends Staff

The Blackscale spawn does not effect a mission. I know the blackscale flight leader spawns near there but it isn't targeted by the AFK players.

How about adding some static spawns that balance the loss , im talking about things that you need high volumes of , junk , stated clothing , ship parts .That literally need 100's-1000's of hrs at the keyboard to get in quantity.

This insight in direction is well appreciated and I applaud the approach however for the sake of transparency, I feel something major like this should have been announced prior to its implementation.

What quests were affected by macros being ran in the krayt graveyard or which new players were visiting it and being disrupted...?

This. The Blackscales help keep parts stocked for pilots, without them the parts market is going to take a huge hit. We brought this up to Karthoris, to which he responded that it's only a credit farm and nothing else. We then suggested reducing or removing the credit drop to alleviate the situation, or even introduce a credit sink to buy parts from Kash Nunes using credits (To help keep the parts market afloat as well as combat the credit situation). None of those suggestions were considered. Many of us purchase parts from pilots that loot the Blackscales, and many of those vendors provide their parts at reasonable prices for the community. This will hurt newer pilots the most.

Credit farm as in selling junk parts to the chassis dealer. Next solution will ruin things more. Just accept things as they are. Next they will bring back afk blackscales and then you can't sell trash parts to chassis dealer anymore. Who cares about credit chips
